Making Wine, Like Creating Art

The challenges of running both a vineyard and a winery simultaneously are very real. Each side of the adventure has its own rhythms and cycles; each demands a different kind of attention to quality. The good news is that we view the double venture as an opportunity to follow a single focus: great wines.

Because we grow many of the grapes used to make our wines, our loyalties are undivided. In the vineyard, we can focus more on wine-grape quality than on high yields, and in the cellar, we know what we can demand and expect from that year’s harvest.

Our Wines

2016 Steel Chardonnay

Chardonnay in all of its naked glory, fermented in stainless steel…no oak. Pure fruit brings new clarity to a familiar varietal.

2016 Riesling

Inspired by the Spatlese Riesling wines from the Rhine River valley in Germany, our Riesling is semi-sweet, bright and refreshing. Pair this wine with spicy dishes and lighter fare.

2014 Chardonnay

Smooth and fruit-driven, our Chardonnay was cold fermented to retain fresh fruit flavors and then aged in French oak barrels. Enjoy with lighter and creamier appetizers and entrees.

2016 Cabernet Sauvignon

A classic Bordeaux-style red. Barrel aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, this wine has supple tannins and prominent fruit character. Savor with lamb, or your favorite red meat.

Tasting Room hours: Sunday 12:00 – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Groups of 6 or fewer are welcome to visit during our tasting room hours each day. Why only 6 you might ask? Our tasting room is small and the experience intimate.

Preserving that friendly and personal attention provides our guests with the best possible experience. If you happen to show up anyway, expect that we will not be able to accommodate your group if it’s more than 6.

As an Allegro Wine Club member, you will receive our Winemaker’s Selection each quarter. This collection of wines is personally selected by our winemaker, Carl Helrich, for the club option you joined and features new wine releases, wines we’re almost sold out of, etc.

Allegro Winery Strasburg is a favorite designation for visitors to historic downtown Strasburg and Lancaster County. Featuring an extensive list of wines from Allegro Winery sample European-style dry reds and whites to German-style Riesling and sweet varieties.
